I've had mine for a month. It is wonderful. It is by far the best car I have ever owned, or driven. And I've owned and driven some nice cars.
I have honestly never driven a car that appears to have so much 'soul' as this one. It always lets you know what it is doing. It feels like it is glued to the road. Unlike Japanese cars the gadgetry is not in your face, but it has all kinds of cool features that you don't immediately notice.
As for some of the other comments:
Expensive - Yes it is. But then so are diamonds. In life you get what you pay for.
Gas Hog - Hardly. It is in keeping with most other premium sports sedans. On a run it can easily do 32mpg. It also pollutes the environment far less than most cars as it is ultra low emissions. I've driven 2000 miles in mine and the tail pipe is not even dirty.
Unreliable - If you check with Consumer Reports, the reliability has been steadily increasing over the past few years. I'd say it is almost as reliable as some of the Japanese models now. I've not had any teething problems whatsoever. Plus, unlike my Acura that I traded, I get free service for 50,000 miles. So if I do get any problems, they are all paid for by BMW.

So my concerns? This is really minor, but I wish the doors would lock when I put the car in D or R, rather than waiting until I am driving 10mph. I also find the brakes to be a bit sticky and squeaky at very low speeds. They are great brakes, but that just annoys me, although it could be simply the bed in period on them.
