my 316i jerks, with battery light on and engine switches off itself, also and some times orange coloured hand brake light comes on, after the with the jerk. i recently chnaged the plugs.

take the battery terminals off clean the terminals and posts .. check the fluid leven in the battery.. change the air cleaner filter and check the fuel filter.. the hand brake light.. make shure the brake is releasing.. the cable could have gotten some foreign matter in it under the car.. that could cost a fortune and ruin a tire jack the car up put the hand brake on and let it up then make shure the tire spins with the brake pedal up .. if it dosent you need to check out what is binding the cable ok.
