I think you mean 3 series BMW. Well ok let's compare apple to apple. On the other side of BMW 3 series got to be the MB C-class. Lowest 3 series in my country(malaysia) is 318i, and MB has C180K, if comparing this 2 models, with no second thought MB, now let's see the top model of this range M3 (335i)

MB do not have 3.5liter engine in C-class, the closest is C320K, i will still vote for MB for its high end handling, breaking system and comfort. Overall range to range, let's look at C55 AMG, F1 chose it to be safety car, dose it say it all?

I can go on for thousands of words, but just to answer your question, don't waste your money for a boy's toy, get a men's toy.

what year? Ever since the Benz Chrysler merger MB's are junk. Pre 1998 MB's are good, anything later is crapola.
well, since u didnt even put what type of mercedes, its hard to answer this question. i think bmw and mercedes in general go hand and hand. they both have their pro's and con's. from personal experience, at speeds of over 110 mph, mercedes handles A LOT better. It sticks to the ground better and has a lot more control. But i doubt you'll be going over triple digit speeds. BMW seems better for driving around town. It seems to have smoother handling and nice breaks.
