It all depends on the condition of the car. A good, unmolested example of an E30 M3 will cost you around $17k-$20k on the higher side. If it has been maintained on schedule, then it's a pretty solid car.

But the parts are going to be more expensive and are harder to come by than a regular E30. If you can afford it, stock up on some engine parts when you find good deals on Ebay.

The S14 engine is generally solid and is rev happy. But I stress the importance of finding a non-abused car, as a lot of these cars are being used for track days. If it has been abused, then your cost of maintaining it will be harsh.

A common weak spot to watch out for in teh S14 engine is the oil level may shift to one side of the block during cornering, which could starve the engine block of sufficient oil pressure. This can be corrected with a retrofit kit. If you buy a car without the retrofit, it'll run you about $200. This must be done to avoid damaging the engine.

Good luck! They are a blast to drive and in my opinion, the best looking M3 ever made.
