Can anyone tell me what a 'intensive cleaning system' is and what do I fill it with? By the way it's seperate from the windscreen washer system.

The small,separate plastic container is still part of the windshield washer system, but the ''intensive...'' is where you pour the concentrated windshield washer liquid. The bigger container is where you pour water into.
It is one of those quaint and crazy german ideas that you sometimes see in a BMW.

It's just what it says it is. BMW sells a separate washerfluid for these systems. As if the original factory washer fluid is not enough! I have found anything as strong since what originaly came in my car from the factory.
Anyway, the intensive fluid is a highly concentrated cleaning formula and is used for the dried bugs, grime and tar that can accumulate on the windshield and headlamps if you have the headlamp washing system as well..
I don't beleive it's offered on US spec cars any longer.
