2002 E-CLASS V. 2002 5 SERIES = BMW 5 SERIES
THAT'S FOR 2002 THOUGH. THE 2002 BMW STILL HAD THEIR PREVIOUS DESIGNER, MUCH BETTER DRIVE TOO. THEY LATER RE-DESIGNED THE 7 AND 3 SERIES, AND EVENTUALLY THE 5 SERIES (THE 3 SERIES LOOKED LIKE A HONDA CIVIC)
BUT 2007 E-CLASS V 2007 5 SERIES? = MERCEDES E-CLASS
BMW FELL BEHIND. I HAVE A 2006 E500 AND HAVE DRIVEN A 2005 540I. NO COMPARISON. THE MB FEELS MORE LUXURIOUS . DRIVING IN CHICAGO AND HAVING THE 4MATIC OPTION IS EVEN BETTER. BMW WOULD GET STUCK IN THE SNOW WHILE I PEEL AWAY IN THE E-CLASS.
GOING BACK TO 2002'S, BY FAR BMW. I OWNED A 2000 540I AND IT IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST HANDLING CARS I'VE DRIVEN.

The E430 has the V8 so obviously its better, if it was a BMW540i it would be a different story. They are both great cars though.
depends on the price and features. If you are looking for performance, bmw would be better. If you are looking for luxury, Mercedes would be better.
But if you are looking for a blend of luxury and performance, than Mercedes is still better.
The Merc sinks faster so is better as an anchor.......what the hell's a BMW?
BMW is a great car with good gas mileage, Benz has more power, depends on what more important to you. Personally I would go with the 530i, has a good amount of power and still won't be at the pumps as much as the Benz. Also reliability wise, the 530i should come out on top.
